After sitting in gold 2 league for the last few months our fortune has turned round, promotion to gold 1 in April and now crystal 3 this month for back to back promotions. There has been some serious levelling up of strength in the clan so this rewards everyone’s hard work. Well played !

With this weeks launch of Warships I’ve been refining my speed technique so I can win a lot. I seem to have it cracked through level 7-10 winning comfortably every time. I’m currently on an 11 win streak.

To show you how I’m doing it I’ve recorded a reply of one of my attacks. So how do we attack fast ? Firstly you want to take down the most isolated Engine Room with Artillery only. At the start just ignore it and drop your troops closest to the biggest concentration of Engine Rooms and once your army is at work then start dropping Artillery on the isolated one. Once you have all but one Engine Room’s destroyed use a Flare to get your army to attack the final one supported by Shocks and Medkits… job done. Here’s the replay…

Finally we got promoted back to where we started in CWL, Gold 1 league. This was a great season, from the first couple of wars it was clear that there were only two clans in contention to win, and luckily we were one of them. So even by war three promotion looked certain. And so it proved with both ourselves and our main rival winning the first six wars heading for a showdown with each other in war seven. Unfortunately it turned out they were defensively stronger than we were so we ended up in second place. But that’s still a good achievement ! Well played everyone.

What I didn’t like about the new post-update CWL is the new reward system. The number of medals the whole clan wins is drastically reduced particularly for those players who don’t get to fight. In CWL you can’t realistically use all your players if you clan has many different town hall levels which is the challenge. But it is what it is, so we’ll just have to live with it.

So the update was postponed today  (1st April) but should be released tomorrow. A few new things in it for TH12s (new levels for witch, ice golem, hog, archer tower and cannon) and level 3 witches at TH10. There will be some quality of life improvements for clan leaders too like being able to throw out bad troops others have donated for wars. But the biggest change will be the season challenges. Watch the vid below where Galadon explains that even silver path is worth 9899 gems worth of free stuff per season. Gold path is of course better but requires payment which is somewhat divisive but I hope the silver path rewards are sufficient to keep people engaged. It will make upgrading much easier so that should be in incentive in itself.

Now my problem is how to complete any challenges with the clouds the worst I’ve ever seen them and I’m only at 5250 trophies.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago we were in a really close CWL with promotion in the balance. After a great start, winning all five wars, we just had our two main rivals to battle in the final two rounds. Sadly it wasn’t to be losing out by one and three stars. On to next season, we will try again !

The team played pretty well though with very few missed across all the seven wars and all 15 attacks used on most of them. We still have a few players who haven’t nailed a really effective war attack yet but I hope we’ll improve over time.

We are nearing the end of one of the most intense clan war leagues yet. But there has been some good news. We made it to clan level 11 ! That’s taken some time given we only war once per week.

The war league has us in third place, nine stars behind second placed clan who are our opponents in the final war. With 10 stars for a win we just need to beat them, even an equal star draw would guarantee us promotion. Nail-biting stuff. I’ll report on the outcome tomorrow.

Recently the CoC clan has seemed much more active than it has been for a while, what with a clear out of old players and many new players joining. In fact we are almost always full now. So last weekend I thought I would try our biggest war so far, a 30v30.

Well what a stunning success it was ! Scoring 83 of 90 stars for a very convincing win. Great job everyone. More 30v30 wars from now on.

The January CWL was pretty good too, we came third again, with 5 of 7 wins including victory over the second place clan in the opening round. We will get promoted one day !

Over the last 3 months I’ve been playing Clash&Go to see if it was worth adding to the clan family, and I recently decided it was worth a try. For anyone familiar with Clash of Clans it will, for the most part, seem very similar. In fact it’s very much like CoC was when TH10 was new. Pretty much every unit and building has a direct equivalent in CoC. Obviously it looks very different given that it has a sci-fi theme but most CoC attack strategies work from what I can see so far.

Initially progress is very tough with resources in very short supply, but it does get easier. I’m nearing max Command Centre (TH) 7 of 10 levels and I never have a problem upgrading anything now. Here’s my base, and if you look carefully the equivalent of mortars and air defences are fairly obvious.
